How to get the best sounds and value out of your guitar!

A guitar is an expensive musical instrument, so it is something you will want to take best care of. You can pay as much as you want for your guitar; one of the most expensive guitar ever sold was $950,000!

Paying a lot of money is not something you will want to do a lot, so you are best making sure that you don’t need to. You need to take care of your guitar; you need to treat it like a child. By that I mean, from as soon as you get it, you take care of it. You change the strings; not every time one snaps, at least once every two months.

You may be thinking, $15 for strings when they still play fine, and sound fine, why? The answer to this is that you only thing that it sounds fine, as you have gotten used to the sound of it. As soon as you replace the strings you will immediately notice the difference, and so will everyone listening to you.

If you play on stage a lot of the time, then you wouldn’t want the worst thing that could ever happen to you happen would you? A snapped string on stage could be a catastrophe, you do have an option of having a spare guitar, in case this happens, but that just defeats the object of this whole article, if you have money to burn, buy as many guitars as you feel necessary, buy a new one every time a string breaks, if that’s the way you want to play, then feel free.

But for the rest of us, we take care of our guitars and take care of them. Changing your strings regularly will prevent unexpected breakages from happening as much as possible, but sometimes there is nothing you can do; a faulty string for example.
